Why it matters

What makes MediGlow different from most aesthetics clinics in Glasgow.

Most aesthetic clinics in the UK are not run by prescribers. Botulinum toxin — the active ingredient in every anti-wrinkle treatment — is a prescription-only medicine under UK law. That means it must be prescribed by a registered prescriber before it can be administered. At many clinics, that prescription comes from a GP who has never met the patient, assessed the treatment or taken responsibility for the outcome. At MediGlow, Pompi and Lalit prescribe and administer every treatment themselves — independently, with full clinical accountability.

The same applies to the management of complications. A prescriber who encounters an adverse event — vascular occlusion from a filler, for example — can prescribe hyaluronidase and manage the situation on the spot. A non-prescriber must refer. That distinction is not a technicality. It is the difference between a clinical response in minutes and a delay that can cause permanent harm.

GPhC registration — independently verifiable

Both Pompi and Lalit are registered on the GPhC pharmacist register. You can verify their registration at pharmacist-register.org.uk. No other Glasgow aesthetics clinic can say this about two founders.

NHS and hospital clinical background

Pompi and Lalit both have over 10 years of frontline clinical experience in community pharmacy and hospital settings across England and Scotland, including Girvan Community Hospital. This is not a weekend course — it is a decade of real clinical responsibility.

Medic-only aesthetic training — no exceptions

Both trained at the Derma Institute London — a provider that only accepts qualified medical professionals. Aesthetic skill built on a medical foundation is not the same as aesthetics learned on its own.

Medication review before every treatment

As pharmacists, Pompi and Lalit review every patient's medications before treatment. Blood thinners, immunosuppressants, certain antidepressants — all interact with aesthetic treatments. Most injectors are not qualified to assess this. Pompi and Lalit are.

Lalit Matai

GPhC-Registered Pharmacist Independent Prescriber

Lalit's path into aesthetics is built on a clinical foundation few practitioners in Scotland can match — a career spanning community pharmacy, hospital medicine and advanced prescribing, combined with specialist aesthetic training from some of the most respected names in the field.

He began his pharmacy career at Kingston University London, deepening his clinical expertise with an MSc in Pharmaceutical Analysis from the University of Strathclyde, and later qualified as an Independent Prescriber at Robert Gordon University. Over more than a decade, he has practised in both community and hospital settings across England and Scotland, including hospital-based care at Girvan Community Hospital — giving him a depth of medical judgement that goes beyond any standard aesthetic course.

His aesthetic training was built exclusively through medically exclusive institutions: the Derma Institute London, where he specialised in dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle treatments and Teoxane skin boosters; and Skin Viva under the direct mentorship of Dr Tim Pearce MBChB MRCGP — one of the UK's most respected injectable trainers and the founder of SkinViva, the UK's largest medic-led aesthetic training organisation. Lalit additionally trained at Inspired Cosmetic Training in full face rejuvenation and holds official Cutera laser certifications.

Lalit dedicates significant personal time to self-directed study — working through the research of Professor Sebastian Cotofana MD PhD, Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at Vanderbilt University and recognised globally as the world's leading anatomist in facial aesthetics, with a particular focus on injection depths, anatomical safety zones and the layered architecture of the face. The precision this brings to every injection is not incidental — it is how safe, natural results are produced consistently.

Pompi Chatterjee

GPhC-Registered Pharmacist Independent Prescriber

Pompi brings one of the most academically distinguished profiles in Scottish aesthetics — built on a career of clinical excellence, continuous postgraduate education and a genuine commitment to patient safety that has never been a secondary consideration.

She began her pharmacy training at the University of Brighton before completing not one but two postgraduate qualifications at the University of Strathclyde: an MSc in Pharmaceutical Analysis and an MBA — a combination that reflects both scientific precision and the strategic rigour she brings to running a modern healthcare practice. She then qualified as an Independent Prescriber at Robert Gordon University, gaining full legal authority to prescribe and manage prescription-only treatments independently.

With over 10 years of frontline clinical experience across community pharmacy settings in England and Scotland, complemented by hospital-based clinical experience at Girvan Community Hospital, Pompi has spent her career at the intersection of everyday patient care and complex medical decision-making. She pursued advanced aesthetic training exclusively at the Derma Institute London — a provider reserved for qualified medical professionals — where she specialised in dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle treatments, polynucleotides and Teoxane skin boosters. She holds official Cutera laser certifications, trained directly by the device manufacturer.

Pompi's blend of scientific precision, business acumen and aesthetic mastery is why patients return to MediGlow again and again — and why MediGlow's review rating has held at 4.9 stars across 85 reviews since opening.

Why MediGlow exists

The clinic they would have wanted for their own patients.

MediGlow opened at The Glen Clinic, Thornliebank, in December 2024. After more than a decade each of frontline NHS and community pharmacy practice, Pompi and Lalit saw the same gap every week: patients coming in having had aesthetic treatments elsewhere — poorly planned, inadequately assessed, or administered by someone who could not have managed a complication if one had arisen.

The question they kept asking themselves was a simple one: what would an aesthetics clinic look like if it were built the way a clinical practice should be built — safety first, results second, and commercial pressure last? MediGlow is the answer.

"We do not compete on price. We compete on safety and results."

The values behind every appointment.

These are not marketing statements. They are the same principles Pompi and Lalit applied across a decade of clinical pharmacy practice — applied now to aesthetics.

Safety before aesthetics

Every treatment plan at MediGlow begins with a clinical assessment — not a menu. Your medical history, medications and individual anatomy are reviewed before any treatment is agreed.

Honest advice — including when to wait

Pompi and Lalit will tell you if a treatment is not right for you — or not right yet. No overselling. No pressure. That is what pharmacist-led care looks like.

Follow-up as standard

Treatment does not end when you leave the clinic. Both Pompi and Lalit follow up between appointments to ensure results are progressing as expected.

Natural results, built on anatomy

Every injection is planned around your individual facial anatomy — not a standard grid. Technique informed by clinical evidence. Results that look like you, only better.

Scotland's first

The only Cutera Enlighten SR clinic in Scotland.

In June 2026, MediGlow became the first clinic in Scotland to bring in the Cutera Enlighten SR — a 750ps picosecond laser chosen specifically for its safety profile across all Fitzpatrick skin types, including the South Asian and East Asian patients who represent a significant part of MediGlow's patient base.

This was not a commercial decision. It was a clinical one. The Enlighten SR's photoacoustic mechanism — pressure rather than heat — substantially reduces the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in higher-melanin skin. It is safer for patients. That is why it is here.

Confirmed by Cutera — Scotland's first Enlighten SR provider, publicly named by the manufacturer on their official channels in 2026.
