AlumierMD Chemical Peels Glasgow — Prescribed, Personalised, Results-Driven
Four clinical-grade peels tailored to your skin by pharmacist prescribers. The Glen Clinic, Thornliebank, Glasgow.
At MediGlow, AlumierMD chemical peels are not a one-size-fits-all treatment. Every peel session is selected, prescribed and applied by a GPhC-registered pharmacist prescriber — who assesses your skin type, Fitzpatrick classification, skin concerns and current medications before a single product touches your face.
AlumierMD professional peel solutions are distributed exclusively through licensed medical and aesthetic clinics — they are not available to beauty salons or over the counter. This means every treatment you receive at MediGlow uses a medical-grade formulation that simply cannot be replicated elsewhere on the high street.

Why AlumierMD and why does a prescriber make the difference?
AlumierMD is a Canadian medical-grade skincare and peel brand founded by a team of dermatologists and skin scientists. Its professional peel solutions are distributed exclusively through licensed medical and aesthetic clinics — they are not available to beauty salons or over the counter. This means the formulations used at MediGlow are clinical-grade products unavailable outside a licensed clinical setting.
Medication review
Some medications — including retinoids, certain antibiotics, immunosuppressants and hormonal treatments — affect how your skin responds to chemical peels. As GPhC-registered pharmacist prescribers, Lalit and Pompi conduct a full medication review at every consultation and adjust the peel protocol accordingly. This level of clinical medication assessment is within the scope of a pharmacist prescriber — and it significantly reduces the risk of adverse reactions for clients on complex medication regimes.
Fitzpatrick classification
The wrong peel on the wrong skin type causes post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation — particularly in darker skin tones. Our prescribers classify your Fitzpatrick skin type at consultation and select the appropriate acid combination, concentration and exposure time for your specific skin. This is clinical decision-making, not guesswork.
Progressive protocol management
Over a course of peels, the appropriate strength and acid combination may change as your skin responds and acclimates. Our prescribers review your skin at every session and adjust the protocol progressively — building a treatment plan that evolves with your skin rather than repeating a fixed protocol.
What our pharmacist prescribers can do for your peel treatment:
- Prescribe post-treatment skincare actives (tretinoin, azelaic acid) that accelerate and extend your results between sessions
- Manage any adverse skin reactions in-house without referral — including prescribing appropriate topical treatments if needed
- Review every medication you take and assess its interaction with peel chemistry before treatment begins
- Select from the full AlumierMD professional peel range, available exclusively through licensed prescriber-led clinics
- Combine your peel course with a prescription home-care plan tailored to your skin concern, budget and lifestyle
Your peel begins before the acid — pre-peel preparation
Every MediGlow peel session includes a personalised skin preparation step chosen on the day. This ensures the skin surface is optimally prepared — removing dead cells, balancing oil levels and opening pores — allowing the peel solution to penetrate more evenly and effectively.
Enzyme Retexturing Treatment
Gentle enzymatic exfoliation — dissolves dead skin cell bonds without abrasion. Ideal for sensitive or reactive skin.
Refining Clay Treatment
Purifying clay preparation — draws out excess sebum and congestion. Ideal for oily, congested or acne-prone skin.
Deep Moisture Mask
Hydrating preparation for dry, dehydrated or compromised skin barriers. Reduces irritation risk and improves peel tolerance.
Radiant 20/10 — the resurfacing and clarity peel
20% lactic acid + 10% salicylic acid
Science: Lactic acid (AHA, 20%) exfoliates dead keratinocytes and suppresses melanin production. Salicylic acid (BHA, 10%) is lipid-soluble — it penetrates the sebaceous follicle and dissolves the sebum and debris causing congestion and breakouts. This dual-acid approach is uniquely effective for acne-prone, congested and pigmented skin.
Radiant 30 — the glow and luminosity peel
30% lactic acid
Science: At 30%, lactic acid provides significant stratum corneum exfoliation and stimulates fibroblast collagen production. Unusually, lactic acid also has humectant properties — it attracts and retains moisture — making Radiant 30 one of the few peels that simultaneously exfoliates AND hydrates the skin.
Vitamin A Boost — the anti-ageing and renewal peel
Pure retinol + lactic acid
Science: Retinol in peel concentrations binds to retinoic acid receptors in keratinocytes and fibroblasts, directly stimulating new cell production and collagen synthesis — acting more intensely than topical retinol products. Note: clients using prescription tretinoin must declare this at consultation. As pharmacist prescribers, Lalit and Pompi will assess the interaction and adjust the protocol appropriately.
Radiant TXA — the targeted brightening and pigmentation peel
Tranexamic acid + niacinamide + lactic acid
Science: Three mechanisms simultaneously: Tranexamic acid (TXA) blocks the plasminogen/plasmin pathway that triggers melanin production — addressing the root pigmentation signal. Niacinamide (B3) inhibits the transfer of melanin-containing vesicles from melanocytes to keratinocytes. Lactic acid removes existing pigmented cells at the surface. This triple-pathway approach is why Radiant TXA outperforms single-ingredient brightening treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on which peel is used. After Radiant 30 (the gentlest): subtle glow, minimal visible peeling. After Radiant 20/10 or Vitamin A Boost: mild to moderate peeling over days 3–7 is normal and expected — the skin is shedding its outer layer as part of the renewal process. Your prescriber will advise exactly what to expect for the specific peel selected on the day.
We recommend avoiding makeup for the first 24 hours to allow the skin to settle. After 24 hours, mineral makeup is appropriate. Standard makeup from day 2–3. Your prescriber will advise based on your specific peel intensity.
Yes — with the right peel and the right prescriber. At MediGlow, every peel is selected by a pharmacist prescriber who assesses your Fitzpatrick skin type at consultation. Radiant 30, Radiant TXA and Radiant 20/10 can be used safely on Fitzpatrick IV–V skin. The Vitamin A Boost requires more careful assessment for darker tones. Our prescribers will confirm what is suitable for you.
Sessions are typically spaced 2–4 weeks apart, depending on the peel selected and how your skin responds. A course of 6 takes approximately 3–6 months. Your prescriber will advise on optimal spacing for your skin.
Possibly — but this must be declared at your consultation. As pharmacist prescribers, Lalit and Pompi can assess the interaction between your retinoid use and peel treatment. In most cases, topical retinoids are paused for 5–7 days before and after a peel session. Do not stop any prescribed medication without speaking to your prescriber first.
Every MediGlow peel session includes a complimentary AlumierMD 5-day post-procedure skincare kit — a gentle cleanser, calming recovery serum and SPF. Everything your skin needs immediately after treatment. Included in the price of every session, single or course.
A facial is a cosmetic treatment that improves surface appearance temporarily. A chemical peel uses clinically active acids to create a controlled exfoliation response — removing the outer skin layer and stimulating new cell production and collagen synthesis. AlumierMD professional peel solutions are only available through licensed medical and aesthetic clinics — they are formulations you cannot access on the high street or in a standard beauty setting.
Yes. A course of 3 from £75/month via Klarna (pay in 3) and a course of 6 from £75/month via Buyline over 6 months. Finance confirmed in minutes at consultation. No obligation to apply.
