Yes — all Enlighten SR treatments at MediGlow begin with a clinical consultation and patch test (£40). As pharmacist independent prescribers, we assess your skin type, medical history, and treatment goals before creating a personalised plan. For pigmentation concerns, we may also recommend a skin analysis using our MC10 multi-spectral imager to identify sub-surface pigment and guide treatment safely.

PICO Genesis is ideal for uneven skin tone, sun damage, freckles, age spots, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), and general dullness. It works across all skin tones and delivers noticeable brightening with no downtime. Results build progressively — most patients see significant improvement in 3–4 sessions.

PICO Genesis FX uses a fractional micro-lens array (MLA) to create precise laser injury zones, stimulating deep collagen and elastin remodelling. It is best for acne scarring, enlarged pores, fine lines, skin laxity, and uneven texture. Mild redness for 24–48 hours is normal; no ablative peeling occurs, making it suitable year-round.

Yes — with an important caveat. Melasma is hormonally driven and can worsen with heat-based treatments if not managed carefully. At MediGlow, we use a structured protocol combining low-fluence picosecond laser with prescription-grade topicals (including a specially compounded formula and tranexamic acid where appropriate) and strict photoprotection with iron oxide SPF. This combined approach delivers safer, more durable results than laser alone.

If your dark circles are caused by pigmentation — common in South Asian skin — Enlighten SR can help reduce melanin deposits in the periorbital area. Vascular or structural causes (shadowing, volume loss) respond better to other treatments. Yes. Friction-induced and post-inflammatory pigmentation in the underarm, inner thigh, and bikini area responds well to picosecond laser. We combine treatment with prescription topicals and tailored skincare to support skin barrier recovery and prevent recurrence. Multiple sessions are typically needed for sustained results.

Yes. The 1064nm is effective for black and dark inks across all skin tones; 532nm targets red and orange pigments. Some colours such as greens and blues may require additional sessions. Picosecond pulses fragment ink more efficiently than nanosecond lasers, meaning fewer sessions and less surrounding skin trauma. Number of sessions varies by ink density, colour, age, and skin type.
